Leaving Certificate
This programme represents the final two years of post-primary education, leading to the Leaving Certificate. They are significant years, academically demanding, and for many students, a time of real personal growth and important decisions about the future.
Our programme builds directly on the foundations of Junior Cycle, continuing the emphasis on key skills, active learning, and broader personal development. We want students who are well prepared not only for their examinations, but for further education, training, or employment, with the self-belief and capability to meet those challenges.
We offer a broad and balanced curriculum, with a wide range of subjects available at Higher and Ordinary level. Students are guided and supported in making subject choices that reflect their strengths, interests, and future aspirations, with honest, individualised advice throughout.

The Leaving Certificate Vocational Programme (LCVP)
All students in our school take the Leaving Certificate Vocational Programme (LCVP) at a common level. LCVP is a small subject with a big impact supporting strong results while building real-world skills.
LCVP is a highly valuable addition to the Leaving Certificate. It links students’ academic subjects with the world of work, enterprise, and real-life learning. Through LCVP, students develop key skills such as communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and initiative, skills that are essential for further education, training, and employment.
Students engage in activities such as enterprise projects, work-related learning, and the development of a portfolio, giving them practical experience and a broader understanding of the world beyond the classroom.
It is assessed through a combination of coursework and a written examination, allowing students to achieve excellent outcomes while developing skills that will benefit them long after they leave school.
We see LCVP as a real strength of our Leaving Certificate programme. It adds value, builds confidence, and supports students in achieving their full potential.
Learning Beyond Subjects
Senior Cycle is about more than examination preparation. Students are also required to participate fully in:
