Welcome to Parenthub!
Parent Hub is the main online information and support area for parents and guardians of students in St. Michael’s Community College.It has been developed to give families one clear and accessible place to find important school information, guidance and supports throughout the school year.
Parent Hub is intended to support good communication between home and school and to help parents stay informed about school life, important updates and the supports available to students and families.
What should I do if my child is unhappy or concerned about some aspect of school life?
As a parent or guardian, you are always welcome to contact us or arrange to meet with us in school. We value open communication and work carefully and respectfully with families to resolve concerns when they arise.
We believe that positive relationships between home and school are extremely important in helping students to feel safe, supported and comfortable in school. In our experience, concerns are best addressed at an early stage, before they become bigger difficulties.
How will I know how my child is progressing in school?
We encourage parents and guardians to regularly access their child’s Google Classroom and school Gmail account in order to stay informed about homework, assignments and school communication.
Other important ways of monitoring progress include:
- the school diary, which supports communication between home and school
- assessment periods in October, February and May
- school reports following each assessment period
- an annual Parent-Teacher Meeting for each year group
- meetings arranged between parents and teachers whenever concerns or questions arise
We strongly value partnership with parents and believe that regular communication supports students to achieve their best.
